Alvar Aalto designed the Savoy vase in 1936, in collaboration with his wife Aino Aalto, for the Savoy Restaurant in Helsinki, which opened the following year. The vase was part of the couple's overall interior design of the place. The vase has been produced by the Finnish company Iittala since 1937, where the vase was entered in a design competition in 1936. The vase is in perfect condition.
